Relationship of Motility Activation to Lipid Composition, Protein Profile, and Swelling Rate of Burbot Lota lota Spermatozoon Following Change of Temperature and Osmolality

Despite available information on the roles of osmotic pressure, potassium (K + ), and calcium (Ca 2+ ) in activation Eurasian burbot spermatozoon motility, changes milt biochemical composition mechanisms underlying their at temperatures above optimal spawning temperature is still unclear. We explored swelling, lipid proteome relation to osmolality swimming medium. The result revealed that increment from 4 30°C increases spermatozoa vulnerability decreasing motility extremely hypotonic media, presence Ca decreases swelling spermatozoa. No was observed non-ionic isotonic media all studied temperatures. A role rejected. differences were found protein profile with respect 30°C. Burbot occurs without modification membrane. Elucidation intrinsic signaling pathway spontaneous requires further study.
